Meaning behind “Coffee with June”..

Sundays were known for church growing up in my family. My granddaddy would not miss a Sunday unless it was some sort of emergency or an unorthodox reason. From what I know he was has always held the chairman on the Deacon board and other committees in the church forever.

At his services I learned so much about him that I would have never imagined. This man was just simply put AMAZING!!!! He taught us to trust God in everything we do, look out for everyone in your family, love one another, respect one another and help those that need help. I try to incorporate all those things into my life on a daily basis, yall remember those WWJD bracelets everyone wore. Well “What would Jesus Do” has turned into “What would Julian Do,” as my own little reminder. I also wanted something permanent to carry around with that would remind me of his teachings and advice, so I got a tattoo of his signature. I grew up watching him sign so many things and at the end of the day your name is all you have. His name held and still holds a lot of weight and power in the community. So, when I am feeling uninspired lost or just flat out depressed I look at his “name” and I find a way to keep going.

So on Sundays I make sure to have a cup of coffee in one of his cups and reflect on the past week. I make sure to just stop for a few hours and enjoy the present, breathe the air, listen to the sounds around me and of course pray. I pray for strength and clarity to assist me in the upcoming week. My Sundays are now spent with Julians’ teachings, lessons and reflections and I want you all to join me on Sundays for Coffee with June!!! WELCOME!!!!!
